Question:

Help with trees in austin?

I have two tree issues:

1. Both of my burr oaks' leaves are turning brown. These trees are about 12 yrs old. The are huge and really nice trees. They shade 50% of my backyard, so this is very urgent.

2. Also, one of my non bearing plum trees is turning yellow. This is happening very fast. Four days ago i would say 10% of the leaves were yellow, today 50%.

If you are in the Austin area you know that the heat started way early this year. We've not had any rain, but we water regularly.

any advise would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I would appreciate any help, we

  1. When watering any and all plants, one must watter deep.

Otherwise the roots will come to the top of the ground looking

for water. Also look for blisters on the leaves. This could be a

sign of leaf aphids. They can kill pecan and hickory here in

West Tennessee.  Wal-Mart has a spray you put on your water

hose. Try to reach the tops. You may need to get an expert to

take a look at them. The sound worth it. In the meantime water

deep, deep, deep every four or five days. Hope that helps and

    good luck.
