Help with tropical vacation?

My hubby and I are planning to go on a vacation in November. We want to go somewhere tropical with great beaches, snorkeling, and sightseeing. I was kinda leaning towards Aruba, but have heard that there's not much to see other than the beaches. We also don't want to go anywhere that is too touristy (ie expensive). Any suggestions?

  4. Unfortunately, most of the tropical resorts that have great beaches, are also islands, so there are few places to visit other than another pile of sand on another beach.  Many Caribbean and Mexican sites also are high in poverty, and crime if you get off the beaten track.

If you can afford it, try a Mediterranean cruise, or go to Malta, or Corsia, at least there are Roman ruins there, and the people are relatively friendly to the USA,  most of them have relatives living in USA.

When out of other ideas, Hawaii is beautiful and you can see Pearl Harbor, or visit plantations or volcanoes there.

  5. Hawaii
