  1. call the credit card company and make arrangements to pay them.  Look up the names of the credit card companies on the internet if you don't have the phone numbers.  Most companies now days will allow you to make payments over the internet as well.

  2. Pull your credit report to see if the infor is on there. You can pay it when you find the information on the credit report. If its been enough time it may not even be on there now.

  3. The first thing to do is to phone the credit card companies and find out who is handling the debt. It it went more than 180 days without a payment, it is likely being handled by a collection company at this point. You then contact the collection agency and arrange payment. They will press you for full payment and may even refuse to set you up with monthly payments. The reason is that the agents operate on commission and are interested only in large payments.

The good news is that since the accounts are so delinquent, both would be eligible to "settle." You can negotiate to pay a portion of what is due (40 - 60%) and have the debt considered resolved. You must have the funds available to do this shortly after the offer is agreed upon.

If these were joint accounts, it is likely that the credit card companies have resolved them with your former husband. They tend to seek the path of least resistance when collecting a debt. The military does not encourage the avoidance of debt.

If you don't have information to contact the credit card companies, and if these were accounts only in your  name, you can pull your credit report. You can do this online.

The information about outstanding/deliquent debt will show on the report, as will the creditor's contact information.
