~~Help with video import from camera!?!?!?~~?

Question

I have a PV-GS85 panasonic. Mini DV of course....And i bought a fire wire cable and a card port thing so i can (try) download my videos to the computer and what not. But whenever i open windows movie maker, and click import footage...(or whatever it is) it doesn't do anything. It says it should reqind the tape and everything, but it just sits there. Someone please help?

yah dont use windows movie maker try to download another editor because the same thing happened to me, and so i got sony vegas 7

You need to check the computer if there is a capture card on-board....if not you will need one
