Question:

Help with writing a script?

I'm writing a script, set in 1942 about a boy (Tom) who was transported over to Britain to stay with a family in 1939, and then evacuated with the daughter (Lucy) of the family out to the country.

It's very short, and originally he wasn't evacuated - I wrote it so that he had broken a photograph frame of a person he was working for in London. Then I had to change it-

so now Tom lives in the country, he's about 15 and the script is about him having a conversation with Lucy, because he did something wrong and she is going to help him - but I don't know what he can have done wrong.

I want to make him out as being a nice boy, just a bit silly sometimes, so I want him to have some kind of an accident - any ideas?

anything is appreciated!

  1. What about studying how to write a script? There are lots of books on the subject, read a few of them.

  2. What about accidentally allowing a valuable domestic animal to escape?  It might be recovered in the denoument or not...
