  1. I'm not quite sure what you mean by a "letter of support". I tried looking it up, and the only thing I could find that looked relevant is the requirement that international students who want to attend a US university are sometimes required to provide a "letter of support" to the financial aid department, but that doesn't seem to be what you're asking.

Only US citizens and US permanent residents (Green Card) are eligible to apply for federal financial aid, using the FAFSA application. Students visiting the US for educational purposes on an F-1 or F-2 visa, or those holding a J-1 or J-2 exchange visitor visa are not eligible for federal assistance. If you're an international student, then, I can't see how you need a letter of support for the FAFSA application.

If this is a request from your financial aid department, I would recommend that you contact them directly for guidance.

I did find this on another page - a sample letter of support for an international student applying to a particular chiropractic college - it might help you.

    Good luck figuring this out!

  2. I have never heard of this. You should use the contact information at FAFSA.gov and ask them.
