if you click on my site you see ive been asking some questions regarding my 7 year olds yeast infection.

i took her to the docs today and he told me that it might be more than a yeast infection and that i should take her to MY gynecologist for further check up!

i had a long argument on why he couldnt just do what had to be done with her because its a pain taking her to the docs and shes extremely shy about her privates and im sure she doesnt want another doctor touching/looking at her.

do you think it's right for him to send us to a gyno?

also i made an appointment and what should i expect them do to my daughter?

she wont let me put on any kind of cream on her and last night she cried until i put it on.

her appointment is tomorrow. i cant find much research and ive been doing the best i could.

I had a long talk with her about it and about what a gyn is and what they have done to me during pregnancy! i've tried everything. my mom never prepared me for the docs and im trying t

  1. I can totally understand your pain. If your doctor says that it is best for you to bring her to the Gyno... I would take that advice. It might be tough, and she may not like it... but if there is something more serious going on you may want to know before it interferes with her reproductive system. At such a young age you really do not want to take that kind of a chance. Good luck mommy.

  2. Have they ever taken a swab? It sounds to me like this could simply be done by yourself or the practice nurse first to get a correct diagnosis before getting her examined elsewhere so the correct medication can be prescribed. You can have oral medication for vaginal thrush too, even at her age, and this may be what is needed.

Infections are common in little girls who do not wipe from front to back, when the germs from the anal region can be spread. It is important that she understands this and keeps herself nice and clean with warm water.

I would ask for a swab to be taken first...

  3. Stay with her the whole time, hold her hand and while the exam is going on, have her look into your eyes.  Assure her that the only goal here is to make her feel better and healthy again.  Ask the doctor to explain what they are doing and how it will feel.

The fact of the matter is, the calmer you are, the calmer she will be.  Try to keep your demeanor normal and relaxed.  It will help her to relax.

Good luck, I hope it's something simple and easy to fix.

  4. I think the doc should have had a go at sorting out the problem before sending her elsewhere may be he/she didn`t have the right knowledge!

I have 2 daughters and i would stay calm and as you have already said explain what this doctor is all about women's health  and she is going to get the best help as the person above has said stay with her all through the examination dont leave her for a minute{you probably know this is obvious} and explain to her it is not as embarrassing as it sounds all women get this sort of treatment.

I HOPE SHE IS OK GOOD LUCK

  5. Just don't leave the room.  You have a right to be with her through the entire exam.  Ask questions and expect answers.  If you are ever asked to leave the room, take her with you and find another dr.
