Help!I am getting "virtual memory minimum too low" message on windows xp2 which slows down & unusable..?

C disk has over 30%,E disk has 25%, 2 others have near 100% storage space left.I also get a message to the effect " windows is adjusting so pc will be slow"

  1. Right Click My Computer, Properties, Advanced, Virtual Memory, Let windows manage. This should fix it

    1.  Right-click on My Computer

    2.  Select Properties

    Or you can go into Control Pannel and select System

    3.  Select the Advanced tab

    4.  Click on the Settings button in the Performance area

    5.  Select the Advanced tab in Performance Options

    6.  Click on Change in the Virtual Memory area

    7.  Select the drive your error message refers to and then select the System managed size in the middle area

    8.  Click on the Set button

    9.  Click on OK, click on OK once again, then OK once again.

    This should fix your problem, you may have to do this for every drive you have installed.

  3. You need to increase the size of your page file. Have a look here http://www.petri.co.il/pagefile_optimiza... for a good explanation of what it does and also how to change it.

  4. It's not talking about your hard drive memory silly. It's talking about you ram. (random access memory). these little stick determent how fast or how many applications can run. To put it basically it's the speed of the computer.

    OK the guy under me has no idea what he's talking about. Also he googled it and came up with a good link. In the link it says to fix the problem get more ram.

  5. If you have AVG virus scanner there was a problem with AVG8 causing this problem, just a guess
