Help!I have been looking after a baby budgie now his crop if full of air what do i do?

The budgie is aprox 1 and a half weeks old.The last few feeds he has been digesting his food really slowley ( 5 hours before his crop empties) now i went to feed him and his crop has no food in it but is still round and full of air.Please help i dont know what to do do i feed him still?i would be really upset if he died

HI dont worry to much very gently rub his crop, @ it will empty, are you feeding him egg and biscuit @ some farexdont feed him any milk productsAND you can also add to that mixture baby apple food.  the apple baby food in the jar not the tin. THE glass jar lasts longer.AND keep him very warm.HOPE this helps you


  2. It's quite easy expel the air from the crop, but taking 5 hours for it to empty is a bit of a worry. At his age he should be empty and eating every 3 hours.

    There are quite a few reasons why the crop may not be emptying as fast as it should, right from very simple reasons (low body temp or formula not warm enough) right up to some very serious and complicated problems.
