  2. Ahhh Cancun! My Spanish love. I planned a trip there in 2005 for 12 people. We stayed at the Royal Sands Resort in two villas. This is one of the highest rated timeshare resorts in Cancun. Benefits of a timeshare is SPACE!! No cramped quarters. You can rent a lock off which will sleep 2/4 or you can rent the entire villa. Royal Resorts had five villas in Cancun and they are all gorgeous and you have use of all their pools and services regardless of which one you decie to stay.  If you are interested in renting from an owner instead of going all inclusive, go to Tug2.net and  head to classifieds . You will see rentals. Also timeshareonly.com and put in whichever resort,I rented through them as well. There is also redweek.com.

Use Pinpointtravel to get the best airfare rates. It will show you every airline and price directly from the airline and from third party companies like priceline etc. Here is a tip. Alwyas book directly from the airline. All of those other third parties charg eyou 5 dollars more. ALso, use pinpointtravel to monitor airfare. If you sign up with them for free, you can list your destination, choice of departure, etc and it will be saved everytime sign in or go on the site. It will also alert you when prices drop . Best airfare tool IMO. We used USA3000 for our flights before I knew about pinpoint. USA usually has good deals and it's a charter type airline that serves the public as well.

. Tripadvisors.com  was  and still is my best friend. All inclusive is not at all cheap.

You can start buying your airfare now as suggested. That is always a good way to go and it will be feasible if the dates are available this early.

If Continental goes to Cancun, you can do Bill me later. So buy your ticket now and gradually pay for it along the way leading up to your trip.

    Tours/tranportation  Brant's -http://entertainment-plus.net/

Must do- Coco Bongo's, The City, Corona Bar, Daddy O, G-spot, Mango Tangos, the mall next door to Royal Sands , visit the Walmart downtown, ride the bus for 60 cents that speeds like a demon to take you from your hotel to the nightlife and downtown, stop a dominos pizza man on his bike and get your pie right there in the middle of the street(they carry pies on their bikes and you just flag them down) visit the open markets in town  (near the  clubs) Xel, HA or Tulum includes snorkeling-great value, Pirate cruise, Caribbean cruise, ATV, Jungle tour-very fun,

There is probably something that I forgot but you can find answers on Tripadvisor and look out for a girl named Lisa from  Daddy O's . She is awesome and she hooked my group up with a table and champagne before we left. I made arrangements with her and MTV was there that night. We had a blast.

Have fun!!  You will love it .

  3. 2009?! d**n I was gonna say lets go together because im scared of going alone there. Ill be going there in Oct or Nov this year. I already got my hotel accomodation fixed, I'll just fix my airfare before I leave. Anyway, ive never been there so I thought it would be nice to meet someone whos also a fellow first-timer.

    Anyway, have fun!

  4. Start by going to tripadvisor.com and start looking at hotels.  Once you have an idea of where you want to stay, start looking at worryfreevacations.com , applevacations.com, or funjet.com .  That way, you can get an idea of how much it will cost.

I personally prefer worryfreevacations.com, they are usually cheaper (I fly from Dallas), plus, they have "lay-away" where you can make payments on your trip and pay a little at a time.

  5. Sign up for TravelZoo (www.travelzoo.com).  I got an all-inclusive 6 night vacation at the Riu Caribe in Cancun for $699 per person, which included air fare.  Air fare priced separately was $400, so this was an AWESOME deal.  It turned out that the deal was through Fun Jet, so check them out, too (www.funjet.com).

I booked the vacation in April and my trip was in late June--just got back!  I suggest that you watch Travel Zoo and Fun Jet for a while and see what offers are out there, and go from there.

  6. I would start by getting my airfare purchased. Airfare will just keep going up if you wait.
