Help!!!Tanned in only one day of swimming!!!!?

Question

I have actually two question,and they are:

1.How does tannig occur so fast in the water??

2.I went unprotected for only one day and have been tanned in one hour!!!!Please suggest a proper sun tan lotion that is easily available in Mumbai and is waterproof!!!!!Also it should last for one hour as i wont be permitted to get off the pool every 15 mins to apply some lotions!!!!

there is specail tanning lotions out there that are water proof and you got tanned so fast due to the water attracts the sun due to the sun absords the water

the reason it happens so fast in the water is because you've got the sun, and the water also reflects the sun, so it's like you've got two suns on you at the same time.

try and get anything that has a high SPF. usually when i got somewhere tropical and am going to be swimming i get like SPF 50 or 60. it works really well.

1.  It is because of Melanin, the more melanin the more you will get tanned faster.  Asians have a lot of melanin while Caucasians have fewer melanin cells.

2.  A proper sunblock (not sun tan lotion) would protect you from the rays of the sun but does not prevent tanning.  A good sunblock has a minimum SPF 30-50 to a maximum of 70, must be applied at least 30 mins. before swimming to ensure maximum protection (i.e. absobed by your skin) but must be reapplied after 90 mins of application, depending on circumstances such as water, sweat or frequent use of a towel.  I can suggest a sports sunblock such as Hawaiian Tropic, Coppertone, Neutrogena or Banana Boat but I am not sure if these brands are available in Mumbai.
