Question:

Helpful Ballet Stretches?

I took ballet from when i was about 4 to about 10. I was well trained, flexible, and strong for my age and I danced with a professional company. I had to quit because I moved and I can't find a good school nearby. I am starting up again this summer, 4 years later. I need to re-establish my flexibility, any good stretches? thanks

  1. try some wall stretches, put our legs up against the wall, like ur sitting on the wall and open ur legs into middle split, i find that one works fairly well.

take some yoga or specific stretching class, they might help

also just make sure to stretch everyday!

  2. Sorry your routine had to break but it's great you're getting back into it. My suggestion would be to combine yoga or pilates with the warm-ups you used to do in class. I had to give up dancing for TEN years and it took about four weeks for my body to get used to it again, but now I've never felt better. x x x

the first one is a modern dance stretch.  The rest are for ballet.
