  1. It depends on what you're looking for in a pet, who's paying for it and providing for it, and how long you'll want your pet.

Hamsters only live 2-3 years. They are easy to care for and don't smell as long as the cage is clean. I'd stay away from dwarf and russian hamsters, as these are the ones that tend to bite. Regular common hamsters are usually the best. Hamsters cost generally about $10 at a pet store. They offer a varitey of fun and colorful cages and toys for them. The cage will cost you around $20 to $30. They are nocturnal.

Chinchillas live 10-20 years and they require a lot of time, effort, and money. They do not like to be held or petted. They are not trainable. At pet stores, they'll cost around $150 for just one. Chinchillas also need to be kept in same s*x pairs as they are social animals. You can find an already bonded same s*x pair at a rescue for $130 with single animal adoption costing $60 or $65 for a single animal. They need a large cage. This can cost anywhere from $150 to $500. They also chew on everything and need runs nightly in a chinchilla proof room. They are nocturnal and will make noise at night.

Guinea pigs live about 5-6 years. They love to be held and petted. They also do best in same s*x pairs and are very social. Guinea pigs cost around $30 at a pet store, but I'd suggest looking into adopting one first. They need somewhat of a large cage, which can cost around $50 to $70. They are diurnal, so they'll be ready to play during the day.

  2. I've only had a guinea pig before but I loved her!  I loved to just hold her in my lap and feed her lettuce and carrots.  You have to clean their bedding of course like everyother day or they attract bugs, and my most feared but, cockroaches!  But I was a little kid at that time so I didn't take good care of the bedding as I should've.

I miss my guinea pig, my mom let her go in the wild because I wouldn't chance her p**p =P lol

I'd say to get a guinea pig!

  3. hamster is the cheapest and chinchilla is the most expensive.

    I hope this helps!

  4. id would say even if its not in the catagory go with a rabbit because they can be trained to folow you and go through obsticals are easy to pet and play with and are easy to make a cage i jsut made one and it got hit by a plow (no animals inside) and jsut fixed itbut id say rabbits

  5. A chinchilla because they will take more time to train and would cost more to buy and to house and feed. Hamsters would cost the least and they don't need much training and interaction, but they do have a tendency to bite. If you want a pet that will be social and nice to you I would recommend a Guinea Pig. They don't need to much care and things like a Chinchilla would.

  6. That depends on what you want your pet to be like.  First of all hamster is cheapest at around $20, Guinea pig is next at around $35, and a chinchilla is most expensive ranging anywhere from $100-$300.  If you want something you can hold and cuddle, get a hamster or a guinea pig, if you want something you can just look at and just let it be cute, get a hamster or a chinchilla.  If you want something for both, get a hamster.  All of them are relatively easy to care for, obviously a hamster takes up less space a chinchilla cage is probably the largest and a guinea pig is a large cage but not as much as a chinchilla.  All are good, it just depends on what you want.

  7. Pet rat

  8. Well Chinchillas are very cute and cuddly animals. But they do have a trust issue. You would have to be very careful not to frighten them or do anything to hurt them, cause they may not trust you anymore. They also have a chewing problem. They are also expensive they range from 100 up to $219 in pet stores.

On the other hand guinea pigs are way less expensive. You can get them at pet stores at around five dollars. They are way less difficult

    to take care of.

It just all depends if you are willing to work with your animal, and the cost. I would get a chinchilla, but just because they are just so much cuter :D
