has started eat and drink. can urinate but now bowel movement yet(not ate enough)

seems to have more energy since eating.

question is if anyone has any ideas about the breathing??

have NO money for vet and our local shelter will just put him to sleep :(

looks like his chest is caving in with every breath.has problems sleeping because if he lays down its harder to breath :(

anything i can do to help his breathing or make him at least more comfortable in his last days if he doesnt make it??

  1. About a year ago, I also found a starving kitty who followed me home from the local playground. He was very thin, his fur was thinning and his teeth were falling out. After months of feeding him Wet cat food (meats, tuna for protein) and giving him milk for vitamin D(about once every two days- cats don't digest milk well) and water, he seemed to be getting better. We made him a little bed in my garage with nice blankets and pillow.

His breathing was also funny, and he made a wheezing sound everytime he tried to breathe. The only thing I though I could do was feed him, love on him and try to make him better.

Its been about a year, and that cat is one of the healthiest cats I've seen around. Basically I saved his life, and thats what you are doing for this cat you found.

Feed it, take care of it, and love on it. In time, his breathing will return to normal and he should be fattening up. Try to give it better days than it has seen.

Best of luck to you and your kitty. <3

  2. This is inexcusable I'm afraid. You think you've 'rescued' this cat but you haven't, you've just taken him in to watch him die. If you'd taken him to a shelter right away they might've been able to do something - there is such a thing as 'no-kill' shelters by the way.

As it stands, it sounds like the cat might be better off being put to sleep than allowing him to suffer to the very end. That's what euthanasia is FOR by the way; for sparing a cat the suffering of a long drawn out natural death. Natural death is usually a very unpleasant and traumatic thing by the way.

The best thing you can do is take the cat to a shelter. It isn't fair on it that it landed up with someone who couldn't pay for it. If this is the case, you should not have taken the cat on.

  3. As this cat, is not yours. You wont need to pay anything, for vet bills. And there should be a donation of your local charity. If i were you, I would take him down the vets, and make sure he isnt micro-chipped.

Keep him in a nice, cool room. And make sure, he has plenty to eat and drink. I would take, him to the vets. But put him under, rescued. As ive had this happen to me.

Hope, this helps you!! Best of luck. xx

  4. That's really nice of you!! If he's cute enough, maybe the vet will take him for free out of pity. lol I really hope everything turns out okay for you!!! :)
