I would like to know how can I help the world. I want to make an impact, but I don't know where to start. I want to do things like help people by showing them that there is hope. I want to stop crime, educate, and bring positivity to neighborhoods, particularly in Florida.

  4. Well my friend you are in a great spot to get this on a roll. Florida is mainly a retirement area, this is a great place to start. Think about it, here sit the people that have been here and done that. Be it a retired Police Officer, Teacher,or  a Pastor. You have all this knowledge right in front of you. Go to the retirement center, or community, And open their minds and yours. I am wishing you all the luck in life. Take care.

If you see an organization that you would like to help, but don't see a volunteering opportunity posted by that organization, it's okay to call them and say you would like to volunteer -- they may have opportunities they haven't posted. Also, many organizations are open to your own suggestions for volunteering activities.

Also, contact your local volunteer center; you can find this via the Points of Light Foundation web site,

There's also this government sponsored site, http://volunteer.gov/gov/ which provides volunteer positions through USA federal land agencies like Fish & Wildlife, Forest Service, National Parks, etc.
