  1. He wanted to enact something called the Fourteen Points which would maintain peace for future generations. However, these Fourteen Points were not really realistic (ie. no bearing of arms, etc.). He felt very strongly about enacting a League of Nations (like a modern-day United Nations), so he ended up compromising on most of the other Fourteen Points in order to have the League of Nations enacted. Members of Congress, however, refused to join the League of Nations because they feared further entaglement in foreign affairs and were embarking on an era of isolationism.

  2. By having Germany punished in a monetary amount. If Germany would not had to pay back the money for the war to Britain and France, and if so much land was not taken from them then WWII would not have happened.

  3. Woodrow Wilson had a plan he called the fourteen points. This was his plan to insure peace after WWI.

The link is a copy of his speech.

Wikipedia also helps, even though I'm not very fond of Wikipedia. Search : The Treaty of Versailles

  4. his vision was to keep America neutral
