  1. use winzip or winrar and archive/compress it with a password. when you want to access it without extracting, right click and hit "explore".

  2. yes.use folder lock

try any one of the below:

    Folder Lock 5.9.0

    NewSoftwares Folder Lock 5.9.5

    USB-Disk-Security-5-0-0-66

    My USB only v4.9

  3. If you're using Windows create an account give it administrator privileges so  only you have control over the computer and create a password and make sure you write the password down so you don't loose it.  Then you can create another account  with only standard privileges that your brother can use. He will not be able to  get into anything with out permission he will have to type in a password.

  4. Yes you can password protect your USB drive.

Try using this software, it has a free trial.

Folder Lock is fast file-security software that can password-protect, lock, hide, and encrypt any number of files, folders, drives, pictures, and documents in seconds. Locked files are undeletable, unrenamable, unmovable, hidden, and inaccessible. You can lock, scramble, or encrypt depending on speed and security. Folder Lock is fully portable, so you can protect your files on USB flash drives, disks, CD-RWs, notebooks, and hard disks, and it doesn't require installation on another PC. Folder Lock protects files in Windows, DOS, and Safe modes, even when you change your OS or boot from a disk. Folder Lock doesn't let you delete its own program folder, and it can't be uninstalled without the correct password. Additional options include Stealth Mode, Hacker Attempt Monitoring, Shred files, AutoLock, Auto Shutdown PC, Lock your PC, Erase PC tracks, 256-bit Blowfish Encryption and Context Menu in Explorer.

  6. i do not think so, some can but it might not? try hiding them, or just keep it on you at all times =]

  7. Try this: http://www.axantum.com/AxCrypt/

Its free. Use it to encrypt and password protect your files.

If you want to decrypt your files, you will need this same software on the computer you want to decrypt it on. Also remember the password, if you forget it, you may never be able to decrypt your files.
