Helppp! Where do I put the string in the sewing machine?

Whenn I press the pedal nothing happens like the string doesnt qo on the fabric... what do I dooo?

  1. Here is a link for you and once you have the machine threaded , don't forget to hold both threads behind the needle until you have taken a few stitches or you will have another problem\

    ...check to see if the buttonhole setting is on.


  2. Have you 'loaded' the bottom part as well? You need to thread the needle & fill the spool in the base & thread that through under the needle.

The other answers are all good ones.  There could be a problem with how you put the needle into the machine.  Most modern machines  use household needles that have one flat side.  Also, most modern machines want the user to put the flat side into the machine facing "away" from you. The flat side to the back. It might help if we knew what machine you are using...is it an "oldie", or more modern? Good Luck.

  4. The string is called thread.

    Do you have the users manual for the machine? It will have instructions in it how to thread the machine. You put the spool of thread on top and fill a bobbin with thread for the bottom thread. Cut that off and insert the bobbin in the place in the bed of the machine in front of the needle. That's how it's generally done.
