Im booked into hospital to have 3 teeth removed by laser the reason for this is I have had oseoporosis so my jaw may get damaged.

The Dental Surgeon who I saw want's to charge enormous prices.

Whats more he want's the money a week in advance h**l I dont even know how good he is yet.

I have top Hospital benefits going back over 40 years and even they told me some of the things hes asking to do attract no cover it all sound a bit unethical to me.

Soo does any one in Adelaide South Australia know of a GOOD dental surgeon I could get a second opinion from please.

By the way we did the leg work in getting a set of teeth by ourselves they cost so far $1.200 not bad for pensioners.

The surgeon want's $660 and the aneathesist $450 in advance.

We are still searching for that money tree they seem to think that pensioners are suppose to have

  1. dental surguens cost alot cause they are specialists trust me you are getting a retty good deal cause i am only getting one tooth out and he is charging $750 DONT WORRY about it cause any dental surgen ANY WHERE will charge lots trust me cause i come from australia too.

  2. Dental benefits offered by health funds are token only and don't cover all, or even the best, treatments. To a lesser extent this applies to private health funds and Medicare benefits for medical treatment too.

One year I had $12000 in restorative treatment and got $650 back and I wasn't ripped off. I knew what was wrong and got several opinions - I had ground all my teeth down to the dentine in my sleep and didn't realise what was happening because I didn't go to a Dentist regularly.

There was a Dentist I founfd out several Dentists I knew went to themselves on Kensington Rd near the round about - his name is David Mann. I have been out of Adelaide several years so I am not sure he is still there.

You can tell how good a Dentist is to some extent by how long his waiting time to be seen is. They are used to people refusing to pay after they have had the treatment, that is why they want the money up front.

  3. Pensioners......always wanting something for nothing.
