  1. You should probably take it to the vet.  If you don't want to take care of it then they'll probably take it for you but if you want to keep it then you can just get it fixed and then get everything you need for it.  If you're not sure what to get for it then you should ask your vet or go to Petsmart and ask an employee.  Hope I helped!

  2. it would help if we knew what type of bird it was. the only thing i suggest is that you take it straight to a vet if its wings are broken, if there is no vet near by try a zoo or and animal wild life sanctuaray.

  3. Try giving it canned dog food mixed with a small amount of water like a thick slurry. Then take it to a vet or wild life center as soon as possible. In the future the other posters are right. Its always best to leave baby birds where they are. Thats what the experts will tell you too. Their moms are around and they will take care of them.

  4. If you found the baby in the bushes, the Mom knows it is there and will feed it there until it can fly. Usually, once they have spent time with the parent birds, they are not likely to take food from you unless they become very hungry and usually by that time, they are to weak to survive. Nursing baby birds is not an easy thing to do. First, you need to know what kind of bird you have...some eat insects, some eat frogs and others only seeds but as a fledgling (just learning to fly) Mom is still regurgitating the food into their mouths...so It can be tough. If you can bring yourself to do it, put the baby back where you found it. Mom knows it is there and it knows to be very quiet and still so not to draw attention to its self. Otherwise, call the wildlife association and they will tell you where to take it so experienced people can care for it until it can be released back into the wild. The odd of the chick surviving in your care, if you have no experience, is very low.

This time of year, baby birds are in bushes all over the place from either falling out of the nest or simply trying to leave to early. You just don't see them because, as I said before, they know how to hide for their own survival. While I know your intentions are to help, the best way to increase it's chances to survive is to leave it where it's parents can tend to it. The parents will continue to feed it on the ground and attempt to bat off any dog or cat that might discover the chick...some will make it and some wont but, it is usually still the best chance they have. The parents are keeping in constant contact with the chick from the trees and even warning them of danger coming. So please, either call the wildlife association or return the chick and make yourself walk away. It is hard but, the best way.

    I hope I was helpful.

  5. You could take it to a vet. Try feeding it moist bread alone or mixed with a little mushed dog food. Look up the number for  Wildlife conservation or Wildlife foundation. They could probably tell you what to do better. Do keep it wrapped up in a towel so it don't hurt itself should it try to flap around.

  6. are u sure its a chicken and not a quail? they do look like chickens. chickens can not fly well however. i think i would take it to a vet. if it wont eat it is going to die, so this would be for the best. they will try to help it, but if it cant be helped they will not allow it to suffer. i really hope it gets better. Also try getting it warm with a light of some sort, bab birds need heat, this may help. try that first, then see if it doen't get any better then take it.
