FC Utrecht are looking confident to sign yet another Swedish star, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marcus-Nilsson-c23825 earlier last week.
After an exceptional season at Olympia Helsingborg, the 24-year-old has remained a hot property in the ongoing summer transfer market to join West Bromwich Albion, Blackburn Rovers and Fulham FC. However, reports suggest that a move to play at Stadion Galgenwaard
seems a more likely option for the Swedish hot-shot.
If rumours are to be believed, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Wolfsburg-c40881 are also interested in taking the highly-rated winger’s signature in the ongoing summer transfer market. However, the Utreg have clearly indicated that they
are closing on a deal for Di Roe ace in the coming days.
Foeke Booy, The Utreg technical director, revealed that his side would lure the Swedish International to Utrecht before long.
“We hope to seal the deal shortly. The first meeting was positive. We are discussing several things with the player, club and the agent”, Booy stated on a Swedish website.
The Utreg technical director then went on to reveal that his side is ambitious to sign the 24-year-old and believes that they will succeed in adding him to their ranks.
“We really want to sign him. We hope and believe that we can conclude the deal soon, but there are three parties that need to have their say what they want. Utrecht is a good step for him and we believe that for sure. The Dutch league and Utrecht is in many
ways a window for other big clubs in Europe and that is something the player is well aware of”, Booy concluded.
Gerndt, in the season ended, scored an impressive 25 goals in 37 appearances and helped his side to finish second in the Allsvenskan league table. The Swede knows the fact that Dutch top tier has remained a feeder league to elite European clubs and his move
to the Eredivisie outfit could be the first step towards making a name for himself in the future.
