Question:

Hemp alternatives? What's the hold up?

Production of HEMP world wide & on a massive scale, has the solution to much of our problems in a consumer society? It would give people a chance to ween off there spending sprees.

Hemp can be grown in 2 months, does not require herbicides or pesticides, and uses a fraction of water compared to cotton. Hemp can produce 4 times as much pulp per hectare than trees and can produce over 50000 products

Surely governments could begin the mass production of this amazingly versitile weed. What's wrong? What's the hold up????

  1. the hold up is that it is better than synthetic fiber and find out who owns that.

the people who today oppose hemp used to be the biggest producers.

Because hemp also makes fiber for clothes that is cheaper and superior to synthetic material which comes from the petroleum business

these are owned by the people who are behind the Law makers

and they do not want competition that will easily overrule their own products ,

    The money involved is billions.

That is why Marijuana consistently ,even in the light of favorable research ,continues to be outlawed, and despite countless analysis and appeals to just about every president since

But it will not become legal especially the fiber plant

which is no good for smoking any way

today Marijuana fiber is making a come back in Europe and Africa and produce designer pantaloons and shirts for very high prices because the quality is superior than linen.

these fiber plants do not produce drugs to speak of and are worthless for the drug market .it is the fiber that is the value.

and organically speaking it is an excellent plant to recuperate tired soils ,after cattle and corn field have practically destroyed the land, because the plant is deep rooted grows on most altitudes, and breaks open or loosens compacted soils as well as secreting nitrogen.

.the stalks can also be converted in to building material such as blocks

the plant has medical value ,for asthma and neurotic complaints

makes paper, clothes and oil .

    even bio fuel

    and much more

    Nevertheless the opposition continues

  2. Because all the nutters out there will try and smoke it. It won't matter how many times you tell them that you can't get stoned they will keep trying. There is a farm in Tasi that grows it and you should see the size of the fence they had to put around it, and they are still getting in and trying to smoke it......RoyM....

  3. the goverment looks at hemp as an entryway to pot.

they think if they legalize hemp then it will lead to them legalizing pot.

when actually hemp has next to zero THC chemicals in it.

they are made out of the same material but in the end there completly different things

but then again, i wouldnt mind if the goverment legalized pot too.

when hemp is being grown it still has THC in it. it is still a marijuana plant. hemp is the after math of drying it out, forming it into a material, ect.

the goverment just doesnt want it grown, i dont really think they have a problem with hemp, its the plant its self that they have a problem with

  4. its like electric power cars or clean energy, the govemnts beleive they cant make a profit off it so why bother bar the fact as most have said hemp comes from a cannabis plant. did you actualy know that there a lots of uses of the cannibis plant(not just smokin it)

  5. While the USA may have legislation that prevents you from growing hemp. you need only cross into Canada and apply for a license to grow it, rent some land, and inform the RCMP of the particular fields you will be growing it in.

If you have been busted, anywhere, for possession of pot, of course your license to grow can be denied.
