Hemp biofuel versus corn based?

better for the environment because you don't have to take up as much land as with corn you have to keep retransplanting in different soils each sowing... better natural defense against viral, bacterial, and entomological infestation... and just plain BETTER!

  1. There is a long history of producing biofuels from hemp.  I'm not sure why Noone N didn't research that before answering.  It is supposed to be more efficient.  I'm for it.  Even if only 10% of our fuel needs came from biodiesel, it would push gas prices down due to the law of supply and demand.  Plus, plants produce oxygen, and I'd rather give money to farmers for crops, than power rich oil company executives.


  2. How exactly do you produce bio fuels from hemp?  To make biofuels you need either sugars or starches for fermintation or fats for transesterification or hydroprocessing.  My understanding is that hemp is primarily a fiber producing crop, how do you plan to turn these fibers into biofuels?
