Former Liverpool defender Stephane Henchoz conceded that he was surprised to see the former Reds boss Roy Hodgson get appointed for the national management job at England, and felt that defending champions http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 will go in to the tournament as favourites.
The 64-year old was named the head coach of the Three Lions by the Football Association on 15th of May ahead of the European Championships scheduled to be played next month, after former manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 after garnering

Hodgson, who last coached West Bromwich Albion before taking over the England job, spent a bruising 4 month spell with the Reds earlier in his career. Following Capello’s exit from management, reports and speculations had strongly put Tottenham boss Harry
Redknapp to be in the pole position for the national job.
The former Swiss International expressed his bewilderment over the Englishman’s appointment, but nevertheless backed him to do a good job. He pointed out that Hodgson underwent a successful period with Switzerland during his management spell from 1992-95,
and can go on to emulate that affluence this time around with England.

He continued, “I hope http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 will do well, so that's the team I am going to support. For the rest, I like to see teams who play good football like Spain. I'm thinking the Dutch team will do well and lately the Germans have played better football with a
group of younger players. They really do play attractive football.”
Henchoz, who capped 205 appearances for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thierry-Henry-c34918 as the most difficult striker that he had ever played against.
He said, “What made him difficult to play against was the fact that he could do so many different things.”
He went on to say that the Argentine superstar http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 is currently the best player in the world, and thought that his style of play was different than the other players of his contemporary age.
