The Liverpool FC midfielder has admitted that his side did not play up to the mark in the recent game against West Bromwich Albion
The Reds suffered a shock defeat at the hands of West Bromwich Alboin on Monday night at Anfield. The home side lost with a 2-0 margin and are now virtually out of the top-four race, which now mainly constitutes of teams such as
Tottenham Hotspur, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-Henderson-c19102 claimed that his side was way below par in the league clash and admitted that the home side did not deserve to win the game. The midfielder added that his side had a great chance to cut the lead on Tottenham Hotspur
for a fourth place finish, but the performance let the club down.
The former Sunderland player stated that the manager did not have a lot to say after the game as the players knew they did not play well. He stressed that the passing and finishing was poor, and the opposition was given way too
many opportunities. The player added that the team failed to convert good possession into good chances which is not a very good sign.
“The manager didn't have much to say after - we all know we didn't play particularly well. I don't think we passed the ball as well as we could have done. We had a lot of the ball but we didn't create as much as we have been doing,”
he was quoted as saying in an interview.
Henderson added that it was surely a winnable fixture for his side, but is now targeting all three points against Brendan Rodgers’ former side, Swansea City. The fixture will take place this weekend at Anfield.
“It's a game we could have won but it just wasn't our night. You have to take these things on board and learn from it,” he concluded.
