http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-Henderson-c19102 has claimed his last season struggles have helped him develop as a player, and was confident of a better showing this term.
The English International was signed by the Merseyside club for a lump sum 20 million pounds transfer fee from Sunderland last year. However, he failed to justify his expensive price tag, as he bagged just 2 goals in 49 appearances last season.
Despite his mediocre performance, he earlier got a belated call-up in the national team for the European Championships, after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 was ruled out of the squad due to an injury.
Nonetheless, Henderson put his last term’s disappointments behind him, and set his focus on making an impression in front of the new manager, Brendan Rodgers. He insisted that his difficult preliminary period at Merseyside only served to nourish him as a
player, and was optimistic of a much a better campaign this year.
The midfielder told the reporters in an interview, “Admittedly there were also a lot of ups and downs but I learnt a lot and I became a man in that time. I've just got to use all the experience that I gained in that year and hopefully this can be a better
year for me.”
Liverpool have so far made two signings during the current transfer window. They signed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 and Joe Allen from Swansea City, for a combined transfer fee believed to be in the proximity of 27 million pounds.
With the Reds Brazilian star, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lucas-c22528 Leiva having also made his return from an injury, the 22-year old felt that the competition to secure a place in the team was now tougher than ever. However, he viewed it as a positive sign for the club, and vowed to work
hard to stake his claim in the starting line-up.
“It is a challenge but there are other great players here as well…I just need to work hard and try and get into the team first. I need to make sure I train well and that come the weekend, the manager can't leave me out,” he added.
