Hendrawan wants junior shuttlers to put in extra effort to earn glory at International level
Hendrawan, who is Malaysia’s national coach for junior Men’s Singles shuttlers, wants them to put in extra effort in their training to elevate their skills for earning glory at international stage.
The coach clearly said that there is still a long way to go for back-up shuttlers as they need to achieve a certain level of skills in order to become world beaters.
He wants them to become more consistent which is one of the major elements missing in their game. These junior shuttlers often fail to prove their mettle in international events due to their inconsistency.
He said, “They are just not up to scratch. What’s seriously lacking is consistency. They can’t seem to maintain their form in competition.”
However, the coach is optimistic that shuttlers under his charge will perform well in the upcoming event of Vietnam Open Grand Prix which is set to be held in Vietnam from August 21-26.
While talking about the playing style and strategy of Misbun Ramdan Mohmed Misbun, the coach said that he does not follow a planned strategy on court.
Nevertheless, Hendrawan knows that Misbun Ramdan has a passion to win but he must learn to play according to the strategy.
The coach added, “He has the will to win, but he really needs to work on playing according to plan. He needs to learn how to read his opponents’ game better and execute the right tactics.”
Misbun Ramdan, who has been positioned at number 69 in Men’s Singles world rankings, is determined to live up to expectations and aims to reach into the semi-final.
While talking about his strategy for Vietnam Open, Misbun Ramdan said that he have to follow game plan and also needs to put up strong show by playing to his maximum potential.
He stated, “I will have to stick to my game plan, pick my shots and make sure I don’t give away any easy points.”
Hendrawan expressed that all young shuttlers need to step up the ladder by giving their best in training sessions and have to show consistent performance in international tournaments if they really want to challenge the best shuttlers of the world.
