Justine Henin began her Australian Open campaign with victory over fellow Belgian Kirsten Flipkens to set up a blockbuster second round clash against Elena Dementieva. Having defeated the fifth seed in two scintillating sets, Henin then took three sets to overcome another Russian in Alisa Kleybanova. World No. 16 Yanina Wickmayer could not end the seven-times Grand Slam champion’s run in the fourth round, and so Henin progressed to a quarter-final against Nadia Petrova which she won in two tight sets.
