Henlow to host high profile races including Primus Telecom Puppy Derby's Heats on Thursday – Greyhound Racing Preview
The city of Henlow will host 12 Grade Open Race (OR) on Thursday, January 26, 2012. With so many high-voltages races, the audience is certainly privy to profound entertainment.
Alongside half a dozen of other sprints, the venue will host six 460 metre long heats of the Primus Telecom Puppy Derby.
With six rampant hounds, Sharp Bullet, Soviet Josie, Be Real, Britania Richard, Ballymac Jones and Guinness Dusty, the first race will kick off at 19:39 (GMT).
Ballymac Jones, Kinloch Brae’s son out of Ballymac Vicky, has been doing phenomenal work since his debut. The brindle dog is quite new to OR level, but considering his recent work, his name cannot be overlooked.
Meanwhile, Be Real will be a hound to watch out for. The black dog finished second in the last race, but registered two consecutive races earlier this month.
In the second Heat, Doobys Gone West, and Coolavanny Bert are likely to do well.
Coolavanny Bert, the black dog, ran well in his previous two solo outings, and has the experience of running at this level.
On the other hand, Doobys Gone West will participate in his first Grade OR Heat.
The third Heat which will be contested by Fifis Legend, Millwards Boom, Droopys Edmond, Blackrose Ace, Hey Kiddo, and Droopys Vito, will commence at 20:10 (GMT).
Had Millwards Boom not finished second in his previous run, it would have been his third victory in a row.
Droopys Vito, Droopys Vieri’s son out of Droopys Jean, will also be one of the preferred hounds in the competition.
Hey Kiddo, the black and white dog, has immense experience under his belt, but it will be his first race after more than a month.
The fourth event will also be an exciting event, scheduled to start at 20:26 (GMT).
Benkaat Blue is likely to be bettors’ top choice, as the blue dog will step into the contest with three consecutive wins to his credit.
However, Millwards Alpha, and Smart Bid are expected to give him a hard time. The latter remained unlucky in his previous two outings, as he finished second on both occasions.
Roker Liam is expected to dominate the proceedings in the fifth Heat of the Primus Telecom Puppy Derby. However, it will a tough task for the black hound, as Aero Bellagio, and Sids Champ are reputed to spring up a surprise.
Roker Liam won both of his previous two races. Droopys Kewell’s son out of Droopys Geneva is in good momentum at the moment and likely to finish at least among the top-3.
The sixth heat of the high profile competition is going to be a nerve-breaking contest, and it will be difficult for the bettors to make a prediction.
Bridge Bandit, won his previous race comprehensively, and would look to perpetuate his good run.
However, King Bradley, who covered his solo 460 metre long distance in 27.99 seconds, has the potential to upset the favourites.
The spectators will have to hold their breaths till the last moment, as the heats would be quite sensational. The winners of each race will advance to the next round.
