Hennessey Stuart clinches Men’s 200 yard backstroke gold – Speedo Winter Junior Nationals
Hennessey Stuart of Una DSA-CO clinched gold medal of the Men’s 200 yard backstroke on concluding day of the 2012 Speedo Winter Junior National Championships at University of Tennessee, Knoxville on Saturday, December 8.
The 17-year-old Stuart devastated hopes of his opponents in the backstroke discipline as he went full rampant in the race and surfaced on the finishing wall for the crown.
With his commendable efforts, Stuart remained prominently ahead of his opponents from the start and made his way to the finishing end for gold medal by touching the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 43.64 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Aaron Greene of North Texas Nada, who stayed 0.10 seconds behind and surfaced on the finishing end for silver medal by producing a time of 1 minute and 43.74 seconds.
Greene was followed by William Glass of City of Mobile Swim Club, who completed the podium by winning bronze medal of the race by producing a time of 1 minute and 43.96 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the event was obtained by John Manchester of SwimMAC Carolina, who was 0.88 seconds apart and concluded his race in fourth best place by touching the wall with the timing of 1 minute and 44.84 seconds.
Fifth fastest spot of the event was obtained by Carter Griffin of Du Hilltoppers-C, who stayed only an arm-stroke behind and touched the wall with an effort of 1 minute and 45.18 seconds.
Griffin was chased by Sean Lehane of Unattached-IL, who was 0.39 seconds apart and surfaced on the wall for sixth place by clocking an effort of 1 minute and 46.57 seconds.
Seventh position of the event was obtained by Curtis Ogren of Palo Alto Stanford, who was only an inch behind and clocked an effort of 1 minute and 46.75 seconds.
Last position of the discipline was obtained by Zachary Lierley of Mount Pleasant Swim Club, who was 0.37 seconds slower and posted a time of 1 minute and 47.12 seconds.
Furthermore, Stuart was delighted with his gold winning effort and raked medal for his notable form after the event.
