Montpellier Herault have been the surprise team of the Championnat this season. Confounding predictions and defying bookmakers, the Languedoc-Roussillon-based club are currently on top of the Ligue 1, level on points with Paris Saint-Germain albeit a superior
goal difference.
Residents of the Stade de la Mosson have the right formula for success apparently and their character was surely evident in the 1-0 win over AS Saint-Etienne. Throughout that game, they were made to work hard but in the end, found a goal that they deserved.
And left-back, Henri Bedimo feels that the club warrants for a title assault after working so hard to maintain their position.
The 27-year-old says that the squad is peppered with the right mixture of young and experienced players and the staff has done well to help everyone.
“There is a strong pact between players. We understood the Louis Nicollin rant. We will do everything we can to make the Champions League dream come true.”
Despite being in the title hunt for such a long time, none of the Montpellier players have come out and talked up the side’s chances of winning their first Championelle. And Bedimo feels that the side has everything that is needed to be at the top of the
standings by the end of the campaign.
“You have to be lucky. You also need to have big mental perseverance. With great determination, we can reach the top. Above all, the coach keeps on repeating to us that we are the best defending side so we must fulfil our roles.”
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Henri-Bedimo-c16040 is currently regarded as one of the best left-backs in Ligue 1. The defender signed for Rene Girard’s side last summer and has had a great debut season with a club that has become a story of Ligue 1.
Though Montpellier are level on points with Paris Saint-Germain, Girard’s men still have a mountain to climb in a bid to lift their first Ligue 1 title.
