The reigning French champions have started the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign on a poor note, managing only a single point from their opening two games.
Montpellier were the surprise champions last season, after they managed to pip Paris Saint-Germain to the Championelle. But to repeat the same feat this time would be very tough for Rene Girard’s side, keeping in mind the heavy spending PSG have done this
summer.
However, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Henri-Bedimo-c16040 is optimistic about La Paillade’s chances this season and has asked his team-mates to put their shooting boots on.
The 28-year-old has expressed his disappointment at Montpellier’s slow start to the season. While talking to reporters, the Cameroonian said that they are unlucky to be at this stage and they need to improve a lot if they want to win the game against Marseille
this Sunday.
“After the first two League games, we should have at least four points. We need to focus on efficiency now, to improve our points position."
On a question regarding his side’s chances this season, Bedimo admitted that it will be hard to defend their title but added that they are up to the challenge.
Although Ligue 1 is their main priority this season, the full-back stated that Montpellier want to do well in their maiden Champions League campaign.
"It will be difficult to repeat our performance and keep the national title. Our ambition is at least to do well in all competitions and try our best in the Champions League. But our everyday stuff is still the Ligue 1," the former Lens player told reporters.
Champions League is something that excited Bedimo and the players is relishing the prospect of playing against some of the best teams in the world.
"We must be ready to face any team and be at our best. I'm excited at being able to play against big teams and to stay in the competition for as long as possible."
MHSC will host http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 at Stade de la Mosson this Sunday in their next game of the 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign.
