Henri Lansbury joins Norwich City
Norwich City has signed Arsenal midfielder and forward Henri Lansbury on a one-month loan deal.
Lansbury made a rare appearance for Arsenal in the Carling Cup tie against local rivals Tottenham Hotspur. He scored during the game to throw attention upon himself as one of Arsenal's best young attacking
talents.
"I'm delighted Arsenal
have agreed to let Henri come here.
I saw him when he was at Watford and Scunthorpe and he's a quality young player, very positive in his play," said Lambert on the official Norwich website.
Lansbury has been drafted in because Norwich does not have the biggest squad in the Championship. The club has picked up a few injuries over the last one or two weeks,
which has placed a great deal of strain on the strength and depth that Lambert has to choose from.
The 20-year-old will provide the club with something different in attack and he will be chomping at the bit to make an impression at his new side. It seems a positive piece
of business all around.
"We have been hit with injuries and midfield is one of the areas where we
needed strengthening. Henri gives us more options in there which is important," added Lambert.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has said in the recent past that he believes Lansbury will be an England regular at some point in his career. Arsenal has a number of young English
players breaking into the first-team at the moment.
"I feel that we have four or five players who can be the backbone of the English team.
It is a very sensitive period for the players because inside the clubs they have huge demands at the moment," Wenger told Sky Sports.
Betting advice
Lansbury does look as though he has a bit of exciting flair about his game. He has a lot of pace and looks comfortable in possession, which will make him a key player in
the Championship. Bet on him to score in any game he plays for Norwich over the next month because he will trouble defences.
