The Chilean completed his move to Old Trafford yesterday, but claims that despite the signing of Robin Van Persie, he will look to secure regular game time at the helm.

After having a medical at Old Trafford yesterday, the 18-year-old was penciled in with an appointment with Sir Alex Ferguson, who was going to sort out his future at the helm.

Rumours have mooted that a loan deal at a Premier League club for the season or a return to Universidad de Chile might be on the cards, although nothing concrete has been revealed yet.

However the competition at the helm might prove to be too much to handle for the youngster, after Ferguson completed the signing of Arsenal skipper Robin Van Persie yesterday.

The striker arrives in Manchester on the back of his supreme performances for the Gunners and is likely to be genuine threat to arch-rivals City, who won the Premier League last time out.

Furthermore, the likes of Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck, Javier Hernandez, Dimitar Berbatov and even Frederico Macheda make for a tough atmosphere and it could prove to be the players’ Achilles heel.

Despite the tough time that lies ahead, Henriquez is relishing the chance to ply his trade for the Reds and claims that he will try his best to secure a spot in the starting team.

“I am super happy to get to Manchester United. I’m fulfilling a dream. I am going where I wanted. You look on TV and see outstanding players scoring spectacular goals. I cannot waste this opportunity.”

“It is not clear what will happen with my future. I want to play in the first team. If they decide to send me on loan, I would prefer to continue at Universidad, although I will do whatever United deem appropriate,” said the talented starlet.

United start their upcoming season with an away trip to Everton, a match where Van Persie is likely to make his debut for the club. And if Henriquez stays; he could also be given a run out against the Toffees as he prepares for life with the biggest side
in world football.
