  4. Actually unleaded gas with alcohol blend which they use today in most ecologically friendly cars. Well because the engine made noise they added lead. Look what that did to the atmosphere today !

  9. Anything a farmer had, ie: Kerosine, ethanol, gasoline.  Keep in mind engines were a lot simpler back then so it wasn't too much of a stretch.  Horsepower varied depending on what fuel and what quality it was too.

  19. It was built to run on gasoline. Gasoline was cheap then. It was considered a waste by product of kerosene (kerosene lamps in those days). However people later found out that the model T would run on just about anything. During the depression people ran them on home made alcohol (moonshine). They ran them on any mixture from gasoline, kerosene, turpentine and moonshine.

    Henry Ford, while a raging racist murdering b*****d, was one of the very first environmentalist.  He didn't do it for the earth though, he did it for the profit.

    He saw all these auto parts being thrown out when they could be rebuilt and reused.  Ford started its Reman Products in the 1930s.

    Today many auto parts are remans.  Alternators, solenoids, some brake parts, engines, transmissions and many other parts are available as remans.  They keep allot of scrap out of land fills with this.
