Henry Lundy: I will only get my satisfaction after nailing Antonio DeMarco - Boxing News
Henry Lundy, the current NABF lightweight champion, who successfully defended his gold recently for the third time against Dannie Williams, named the man he wants to take on in his next bout and said that being number two is a good feeling but he will only
be satisfied when he nails Antonio DeMarco to become the new WBC lightweight champion.
This was the first detailed interview that Henry gave after his 10-round unanimous win over Dannie. Henry, also known as ‘The Hank’, has been in a total 24 bouts and lost just one to John Molina.
Lundy has achieved much in his career and his challenge to Antonio is rightful since he has moved up in the rankings substantially and has convinced his critics and the media as well that he possesses the ability to not only take on DeMarco but also pin
him.
The former one time WBO NABO lightweight champion, Lundy, 28, while sharing his thoughts about the title holders said that they should not hide or try to evade the surging contenders since they are the champions and must take on opponents every now and then
to prove they are eligible for the apex divisional gold.
The Philadelphia proud said, “They should make these champions start fighting the top contenders, or else strip them of their titles. I’ve never run from any fighter. I think the champs should do the same. Fight me!”
When asked as to how he feels about taking on Antonio DeMarco, Lundy simply said, “He’s tailor-made for me. I need that fight. I want that fight. He stands right in front of you and makes a lot of mistakes. I’m not going to run my mouth, but that’s the fight
I want.”
Henry bashed the critics and the individuals who always hypothecated him as a loser before every bout adding that he had to patiently absorb all such demoralising chants before every high profiled bout.
Lundy proudly said that despite those de-motivating roars he was the one who always emerged out of the ring victorious. Henry told the media explicitly his ultimate dream and said, “I’ll be satisfied when I win that world title.”
At the moment, Henry has returned back to his gym and has initiated his normal training routine and if his view point is heard especially by the DeMarco camp, the American proud might get a title shot at Antonio DeMarco. Currently, Antonio is determining
the name of his July 7, 2012 bout and a possible Henry-Antonio skirmish is only possible after it.
