  1. I agree with the person I gave a thumbs up.  You may actually have a male and you can be happy with a female if she is female.  I would look up on google some better ways, like pictures not just words, to compare.

Though to answer your question, yes.  You can trade it, BUT only if it hasn't been nine or ten days since you bought him and you have the receipt still.  Other wise, you cannot trade it.  You can give it to them, you get no money, and buy another.

Here are some pictures I could recommend:

  2. The "slits" you are referring to are nothing to do with their genital organs. It is their Scent Gland, both male & female have this gland although it is more prominant in males.

So hang on, they have given you a male but you want to trade for a male...little confused...

Anyway, there is no need to trade him/her. It wouldn't be fair to start moving him around if he's already settled down. Both males & females are very similar in temprement. In my experience, they are both very friendly. Unless you were trying to make a same s*x pair with a Gerbil you already had, there is no need to take it back.

    Hope this helps.

  3. Why trade it? He's probably happy it got a new home. They probably won't let you trade!

  4. I did it once but if has to be with a day or two,
