Her Majesty the Queen and state benefits?

With Her Majesty the Queen and most of her family on state benefits,as were her parents ,and considering they live in glorified council houses and virtually untouchable by the police does this make them "chavs"?

They wear a lot of Burberry, and I noticed that if you take all the letters in Kate Middletons name , leave out most of them and substitute a few you get the word "chav"

Prince William and Prince Harry both have the letter "R" in them (in the word prince),wer`nt they also the first letters of Ronnie and Reggie Kray

And the final bit is that the first 3 letters of Charles are also the first 3 letters in "chav"

So the question is are the royal family "chavs" or do we love `em?

The Queen costs the averageBrit 66p a year.  I don't have a problem with that.

Buckingham Palace and her other properties are hers by right, she owns them, therefore they are not "council houses"

She has her own revenue from her own lands, other members of her family have their own businesses such as stables.

Maybe you should complain about them and not the Queen, she does more for this country than the above sterling examples of humanity.

Avondrow - the Queen is not "German" she was born here as was her father and his father and his father and well you get the picture.  A drop of German blood 200 years ago does not make you German.

the royal family are fine by me.  they're good for the country and no they're not chavs.  they've got class . would you prefer a slime ball like bush as head of state?    as for the 66 pence it costs each of us, that isnt paying for the clothes they wear or camillas jewels etc. that 66 pence pays for policing and security . so lets leave  our queen alone and worry about more important things.

Two thousand minor royals??  You are either a hoaxer or labouring under a very big misconception.

The pro republicans claim the true cost of the monarchy is £150million, not £40million. Ok, but don't forget the money the queen will hand over to the state from the Crown estate. Last year that was £200.1million. More than offsetting the Civil List and Grants in Aid. Get your facts right about the monarchy before repeating the usual fictional propaganda about State Benefits or 'them not paying tax'. If you think a referendum is needed, then that is fair comment.

As for the 'German' claim, yes, they were, about 200 years ago, but the Queen Mother was a Scot.

Actually, the Royal family owns a lot of property and pays a lot of taxes, which chaves are not well known for. For example the Queen inherited considerable Estates from her Mother, while Princes William and Harry inherited estates from their mother.

The properties that belong to the state are what are known as properties in trust. They originally belonged to the Royal family but they were confiscated by the state when the Parliamentarians took over England after the civil war, or where purchased in lue when said properties were sold off.

Besides, being a chav is a state of mind, you need to think chav to be chav, and I can't quite see people who play polo and think that "Fighting in Afghanistan is a jolly old laff say what old bean" as thinking like a chav.

Only the Queen and Philip are on the Civil List;the Queen pays for the rest of her family and has been doing so since 1992,after her "annus horribilis,"her horrible year. Charles makes his own money from the Duchy of Cornwall;he runs organic farms and sell organic goods.

The Royals are not that into "fashion" and are not chavs.They don't wear poor quality copies of the designer you mentioned,nor do they wear the tacky fake gold jewelry that "chavs" favor.

They lead such interesting lives and some of them do get into trouble,but I like them.

Also:  She only pays tax "voluntarily", she has immunity from all criminal prosecution, and the final hypocrisy about taxes; is that the duchy's of Cornwall and Lancaster do not pay corporation tax.

Oh, and German blood is as recent as some of Victoria and Alberts offspring.  Who some of survived well into the last century.  So some of their childrens children, will still be part German.

Believe it or not, the Burberry brand was around Before "chavs" started wearing it. You can take the letters from any name and remove some then add new ones to make the word chav. All You are doing is chewing on the stripped bone that is the phenomenon of 'the chav', which has long since passed its peak.

lol...good point & i just had a glass of wine so can't figure out some of it...but i really don't mind supporting the Queen...i really DO mind paying for Camilla's fancy, expensive clothes & jewellery - just because she is an adulterer & if not for her...our Princess would still be alive!
