The Heraclieden head coach, Peter Bosz, was unable to hide his joy and revealed that his troops fought hard throughout the 90 minutes despite finding life very difficult in the opening half.
“We were finding it very difficult in the first half. I kept emphasizing that we have to stay in the game, because things can change dramatically in after the break. Fortunately, it happened for us”, Bosz was quoted as saying to De Telegraaf.
The Dutch trainer then went on to insist that his side has not yet accomplished the objective and they have to put in another impressive performance if they are to win the Dutch cup.
“Of course, it is fantastic for the club to reach the final. We will play against PSV Eindhoven. We are now only one-step away from lifting the cup, and we will show that we want to win it”, Bosz added.
The Almelo outfit took the lead in the seventh minute through http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 Ramos da Silva. However, two goals within two minutes changed the momentum of the game in favour of the hosts.
Adam Maher found the back of the net in the 20th minute to restore parity. Johann Berg Gudmundsson added another two minutes later to give the home side a deserving lead.
Despite dominating proceedings in the remaining first-half action, AZ failed to extend their lead. The visiting side resumed brightly after the half-time break and levelled the score-line through http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Kwame-Quansah-c21513 in the 66th minute.
Neither side mananged to find a winner in normal 90 minutes. However, the Heraclieden claimed a 4-2 win by scoring two goals in the second period of extra-time through Thomas Bruns and Ninos Gouriye.
Bosz admitted that his troops battled hard to secure the victory.
“This was a great experience for the young boys. It was an amazing evening. Everyone should replicate this performance in the final as well”, the Heraclieden boss concluded.
