  1. i want exactly this!!

but i havent been able to find one, but you know what is even better, better then getting a book and having it sitting on a shelf?

buy loads of herb seeds (like i am doing), there quite cheap plant them, make sure there all labeled, that way you can instantly recognise them, and recognise them when you see them! and then you can just google the herb for it's health benifits.

you can then tell what they look like when there grown, tell what they smell like and feel like and what they taste like. once there grown and flower you can have more!

it's much easier to recognise somethink if you have used it or grown it yourself.

since your in US, and i'm in uk i cant reccomend any good places to get any cheap seeds, but get them online from a specialist, or a asian supermarket, as they have them in huge packs for dirt cheap!

i've got about 30 diffrent and unusualy herbs that i bought from there in seed form and grown most of them, planning on getting some more soon!

  2. The only one I know of...

The Complete Illustrated Holistic Herbal: A Safe and Practical Guide to Making and Using Herbal Remedies

    By David Hoffmann.

An excellent visual with photos for each herb. The Amazon sample doesn't show the single herb monograph page but it will give you an idea. It's got over 200 herbs in it...photos for each one plus much more information about body systems and herbs.

David Hoffmann's a wonderful herbalist...in retirement now from practicing but still teaching (I'm an ex student)

If you are interested in Chinese herbs  the book below has good pictures as well but mainly of what the herbs look like after harvesting, ie dried roots, not photos in the wild.
