Herbert Ebayo enters into main round of Uganda International Badminton Championships 2012
Uganda’s Herbert Ebayo has reached into Men’s Singles main round after beating his team-mate Davies Senono in the qualifying round of the Uganda International Badminton Championships 2012, in Uganda, on Thursday, February 2.
It was a mouth-watering battle as both shuttlers displayed their impressive skills in the whole match. However, it was Ebayo who managed to dominate the game in the ending phase of deciding game and won the rubber-set battle in 33 minutes.
The opening game was not that thrilling as Senono could not manage to maintain the pace of rallies and remained trailing.
On the other hand, Ebayo kept a firm control over the pace while remaining quicker in all areas of the court. He managed to put pressure on his rival in the opening half and took a comfortable lead.
After the break, Ebayo remained positive as he did not execute risky shots and kept his challenger moving around in the court with his perfect drives. He did not let his opponent to play aggressive game in the whole set and won it without any trouble by
a striking score of 21-13.
In the following set, Senono came in the court with a different game plan. He remained quicker from the starting points and managed to push his rival on the back foot. He took the bird early at net and executed beautiful net shots and remained ahead until
the break.
After the break, Ebayo tried to control the pace but failed to return his opponent’s shots in the right areas. He could not play positive game and lost the second set with a one-sided margin of 14-21.
In the final set, both men played with precision and progressed in the game with an equal pace. They remained toe-to-toe in the whole set as no one missed any chance to earn points.
In the concluding phase of deciding game, Ebayo played aggressive badminton by taking the bird early and managed to win the battle with a decent 21-18 margin on the score board.
This Men’s Singles battle ended in 33 minutes with a final score of 21-13, 14-21 and 21-18.
