Herbert Kohler heaps praise on Asian LPGA stars, wants Americans to focus more on work ethic

Herbert Kohler, the CEO of Kohler Company, said that he is not that impressed by American LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) stars, especially after they let their Asian competitors walk all over them in recent months.
Kohler was glad that he was going to host another edition of the prestigious US Women’s Open at Blackwolf Run, which speaks of his passion for women’s golf.
However, Kohler Co. Chairman did not seem to be impressed by American players, as he said that Asian players have proved their mettle by performing well in recent LPGA tournaments.
Speaking to the Associated Press just hours before the US Women’s Open 2012, at Wisconsin, Kohler said that he still remembers how Se Ri Pak of South Korea trampled her American rivals in 1998 at the same course (Blackwolf Run).
Heaping praise on Asians, Kohler said that he is impressed by the way they have emerged to dominate the LPGA Tour in recent months, with most of the top position in the Women’s World Golf Rankings having been seized by them.
He went on to say that it is the commitment and hard work that has helped Asian contenders boost their credibility in professional golf. Work ethic, Kohler, is the key to good golf, and Asian contenders appear to have learned the importance of this factor.
He suggested American players pay attention to what has actually helped their Asian rivals snatch the top spots.
“These Asians have done so well because they know the meaning of work. They work and they work. And that is starting to have an impact on the Americans. The Americans have now seen what the Asians can do, and they're starting to work," Kohler said.
Kohler Company is one of the fastest growing manufacturing concerns in the United States, with a presence in countries as far as China. Kohler Co. manufactures plumbing products, and has managed to found a solid foothold in Asian region.
"We're very successful in China because of the attitude of those people toward work," Kohler said. "They love to work, they know how to work and they do what it takes. And they love to win".
