Hercules defender Rodri likely to leave http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 to play for Spartak Moscow
The Russian Premier League side, Spartak Moscow are eager to sign the Hercules defender Rodri in order to strengthen their struggling defence.
The reports suggest that the 26-year-old is already in talks with the Russian side and may consider a switch come the end of current 2010-11 season. The centre-back joined the La Liga side in 2009 after being released by Deportivo La Coruna and since then
has managed 38 appearances for the club that has seen the centre-back scoring four goals as well.
Spartak’s coach Valery Karpin was very critical of his side conceding three goals against Basel in both the legs of the UEFA Europa League round-of-32 which Spartak eventually won by a 4-3 margin on aggregate.
This result has influenced Spartak’s manager to make a call for the Hercules centre-back who is expected to bolster their defence.
The La Liga side is already cash-strapped and are in need of any handsome offer that could allow them to make decent signings to bolster their squad. Spartak Moscow have offered 400,000 Euros to the Spanish club for the 26-year-old and it remains to be seen
whether the defender would be landing in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Russia-c2991 or extend his stay in Spain.
Hercules are currently 17th in the League table with 26 points and are just one point clear of the relegation zone.
Another La Liga player, Nicolas Pareja left Espanyol to play for Spartak last season and if the deal is agreed upon, then the 26-year-old centre-back would join him.
If the La Liga relegation battlers agree to sell out Rodri, then he would get his campaign underway against FK Rostov on the first day of the new Russian Premier League 2011-12 season on Sunday, the 13 of March, 2011.
The Russian club would be hoping to sign the defender before the transfer window shuts and Spartak would hope that the 26-year-old could utilize his experience which he gained while he was a player at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38605 and Deportivo La Coruna.
