  1. Hercules is the Roman name for the Greek demi-god Heracles. He was the son of Zeus king of the gods and Alcmene the prettiest mortal lady of her time. He was from Thebes. He probably lived circa 1250BC as well as I can figure based upon his taking Troy when King Priam was a baby. Priam was killed when Troy fell the 2nd time in 1184BC and was old then, so he was surely born about 1254-1244BC. Heracles was in his prime then. He may have lived about 1275-1235BC. There are conflicts about his fate after death. Odysseus sees him in the realm of Hades with other dead men, but I think the "Odyssey" indicates that his immortal half went to Olympus to dwell with the gods, and he was married to Hebe goddess of youth who was cupbearer to the gods, replacing Ganymede. Heracles helped her. He was the strongest man who ever lived. Some say he was 15 feet tall. Such a muscular man woould weigh 4800 lbs. or so at that height.

  2. God of nothing, son of a god.  Has to do trials as punishment for killing his wife.
