Here's a case for all you makeup lovers!! (easy 10pts)?

I'm starting high school and want to look at least a little different.

My features:

-blue eyes

-shortish brown eyelashes

-fair skin

-freckles!!

-medium length, light brown, curly hair (and lots of it!!)

I'm not looking for heavy makeup. Just a few light touches to enhance my features. Simple, pretty. (little bit of liner, mascara, and lip gloss?)

Also, I don't need anything fancy. Just something reasonable that I can pick up at rite aid or whatever.

Tips on colors, application, brands...anything would be really really appreciated!!!

  1. For your eyes, you could wear an eyeshadow, that would make your eyes stand out a little more, you should wear either brown, rose, or a color that's a little bit warm. Blue eyes are really cold, so contrasting them with a warm eyeshadow makes them stand out. Also, get a lighter color, like an off white to be a highlight, put it under your eyebrows, and in the corners of your eyes. You could also get a darker shade of your main color, and put that in the crease of your eyelid. I like cover girl, but I don't think it really makes a big difference.

Blue eyes look better with black mascara usually, but if you are really pale sometime it doesn't look very good, so if black doesn't work, try a dark brown, same with eyeliner. For mascara I like almost anything by maybelline, my favorite is define a lash, but they have a lot of other ones that are just as good. For eyeliner, my favorites are perfect point plus, I think it's just a generic brand from walmart, but I might be wrong; unstoppable from Maybelline; and I also have line stylist from maybelline, but I think that one is harder to put on, but it's thinner so that can be useful sometimes. I got all 3 of those from walmart.

I like clear lip gloss best, but you could always try some different colors if you wanted. I don't know what colors to recommend, because I like my natural lip color and only wear clear so yeah, sorry. My favorite is megabalm ultra soothing lip treatment from good skin, I don't use it all the time, because it's for dry lips, but it's really nice. It stays on really well. It feels thick, so you might not like that. I just got it at kohls. My friend likes lip gloss from bath and body works, I've only sampled one once, so I don't really know, but you might try those too.

You could get some nice brushes if you wanted, but I wouldn't. They could be a lot, and I don't think you need them. You would only need them for the eye makeup, and I think the little brushes that come with it, or fingers work just a s well for applying it.

About your other question, I don't know, I don't usually use Almay, and I've never used their kits before; but you could always try it. The way you find out what you like, and what works for you, is just by trying different things.

  2. I actually really like the Almay kits. They're a great starter kit especially since you don't want to splurge. I'd say.. Stick with drugstore makeup for a while. Then when you want to start experimenting I'd hit MAC, Sephora, and Department stores. Go with a neutral look since you're young and you really don't need a lot of makeup

  3. brown shadows would make your eyes pop! if you take a brown eye liner and smudge it into your lash line it can create the look of thicker and longer lashes. also if you get a shimmery white eye shadow you can highlight under you eye brows, on the inside corner of your eyes, and also along the cheek bone to give the look of bigger eyes and higher cheek bones.

  4. o wow i have the exact same features as you!!! lol what i do is i put on revlon colorstay eyeliner and then some mascara and tan eyeshaddow its not too heavy and looks good

  5. back to school makeup kit:

pressed powder [like macs studio fix powder][covergirl pressed powder]

    brown mascara [like covergirls lashblast]

lip/cheek stain [like benefits posietint][revlons just bitten lip stain]

    clear lipgloss [like revlon's lipgloss]

    brown eyeliner [maybelline eyeliner]

to bring out your eyes try rich warm browns, soft taupes and soft peaches as eyeshadow

try sephora's brush kits. they are about $10 for 5 brushes. it includes all of the essentials you need

    fave drugstore brands:

    maybelline, revlon, neutrogena, and almay
