Here's a nasty question but my husband can't answer it and i'm curious..how are porta-potties emptied?

They are always so nasty and i'm just wondering how they're emptied and how often usually.

They have a pump that connects to a septic tank trunk. The pump is inserted towards the back of the porta potty and sucks it into the truck's tank. You'd recognize the truck by the smell.

I've seen it before. There's no avoiding the smell either. It's pretty God awful.... on par with a slaughterhouse.

The true Porta Potty for outdoor and camping use is emptied by first seperating the top from the bottom tank.

Take the bottom tank and gently move it in a circle to break down the solids.

Gently and slowly unscrew the drain cap and dump into collector tank.

Wash with hose and flush out, put lid back on, hose off again, wipe dry and re-install.

Porta Potty is not the same as a Sani Can or Honey Bucket.

If that doesn't do it you call Rothchilds Sewage and Septic Sucking Service!

A truck comes by with a big sucker goes in and they suck it right out of there into the truck.  Truth!  I've seen them do it before, yikes.

You ever notice the pipe sticking up that looks a lot like a straw?  They attach a hose there and suck it out.

They take a pump and stick it down the hole. I am not sure how often though.

their sucked up by a truck, one poor man goes in with a hose and they pretty much vacuum it all into the trucks tank. and it depends on the level of use as to how often, wouldn't be left for more than a few days for hygiene reasons, but it may be as often as every few hours at a large event. watch the movie kenny for a nice mockumentary on the subject

A guy comes out with a tanker truck that has a suction hose.  They suck out the p**p, put in "fresh" treated water, and drive away till next time.
