Here's a rather unusual pet question? Has anyone ever raised an alligator?

I found a baby down in the Florida Everglades, the mother had been shot by poachers, so I took the youngin home, I was living in Imokalee (not sure of correct seminole spelling, anymore) and raised this reptile into one big muther! Used to go swimming in the lake with "Tiny" and often thought of introducing some of my 'good friends' to tiny, but never did since I was too young to go to jail.

Anyway way, anyone on here ever have any personal dealings with alligators. A friend of mine, wrestles gators for the tourist attraction, rolls them over on their backs and rubs their stomachs, which makes them sleepy, and this is because, just prior to the tourists being let into the gator arena, all the gators are fed chicken leg quarters and by the time my friend enters the arena, the gators are full and very sleepy, so it looks like he is taming these wild beasts, when in reality, these 'wild-beasts' just want to go to sleep.

Anyone ever see these gator-wrestling shows down in Florida

My grandpa actually owned a gator with his fraternity house. He lived up in Maine at the time, I think. They had it shipped from Florida, and they fed it chickens from the agricultural dept. It eventually died by being frozen on a really cold night. He said they would duct tape its jaws so it couldn't bite, and they put it on a leash at parties.

I've raised spectacled caimans (sold them), and I'm raising a Shneider's dwarf caiman, Cuvier's dwarf caiman, and an American alligator (all legally purchased and owned). The only wrestling I've seen was me removing the smooth front (Shneider's) dwarf caiman from its enclosure.

i would start feeding it live food, get her ready, call the zoo and let them rehabilitate her with her family,
