Here's why the Chinese girl was placed higher than Sacramone on Vault?

The Chinese girl has a higher starting value than Alicia Sacramone. Even though Sacramone has a higher execution points, apparently combining the starting value the Chinese girl has more points.

So people freaking get over it. !!!

we know its cause of the starting values. but its stupid how a fall straight onto her knees on the chinese girl a 15 still. it was no where close to a land. alicia on the otherhand did pretty good lands on both attempts.

This is not an isolated case this year on vault, so there is no bias, it is just the scoring system. If you do not agree with it, don't compete:

Men's vault final;

2 times world champion Marian Dragulescu got the highest score of the night at the first vault and mislanded at the second. The miss was even worser than Chung Fei's.

He still got a reasonable score at the end, so the scoring system is consistent. Unfortunate for Dragulescu, he was rank 4 becuase all the medalists attempted max diffculty vault, unlike some competiters in women vault who only attempted easy vault, hoped to get a medal on other people's failure.

Thank you. People just watch the performance and do their own judging based on bias and intuition. A lot of people don't watch gymnastics except every four years and all of a sudden they are experts.

Apparently the Americans think the Australian judge was biased towards the Chinese girl and that's why she won the gold.

Isn't it awful that the Americans are not winning everything this time.

I would have preferred to see the Romanians do better. I'd also prefer to see real horses in the gymnastics than pommel horses!
