I agree with you actually and i think it is all in the description. Like she is always describing his eyes as looking black and hard when he is hungry and like mlted chocolate when not and like a gem stone. I think itf SM wrote it was she noticed his eyes changed colour from black to brown meaning he had fed then people wouldn't think he was as good looking.
