Here Now And Why and Triskaidekaphobia to collide in the Betfred 5 Times The Odds On Lucky 63 Handicap at Musselburgh
The Class 6 Betfred 5 Times The Odds On Lucky 63 Handicap is to be held at Musselburgh over five furlongs on Sunday, 8th April. Contesting today is a lineup of twelve four-year and older thoroughbreds.
Not every entry on the lineup has raced at Musselburgh. The only candidate who has won at there is Here Now And Why, Pastoral Pursuits’ five-year-old brown gelding out of mare Why Now. His third last attempt of the previous season was at the same race course
and translated into a victory.
On 26th October 2011, he won the TurfTV Handicap over five furlongs by a margin of ¾ of a length while riding with Robert Winston. The runner up of the race was Cayman Fox who struggled for the position by a mere head’s difference from Berbice
who finished third behind the winner.
Mission Impossible, the 9/2 favourite of the race ended fifth on the lineup of thirteen.
The final two races of the season were failures with a sixth and eighth position.
Before this victory, Here Now And Why, stumbled quite miserably in the Scottish Racing Your Better Bet Handicap on 16th August at Musselburgh over seven furlongs.
The 7/2 favourite of the race, Whats For Pudding, won the race and had Let’s Face Facts settling as the runner up. Coming at terms with the third position was Broughtons Silk.
Here Now And Why is racing his seasonal debut after resting for nearly four months. Rest and victory the last time he raced at the same race course has made his chances stronger for today.
Triskaidekaphobia, Bertolini’s nine-year-old bay gelding out of mare Seren Teg, has raced at Musselburgh as the final race of the 2011 season. Not that he could credit it as a victory against his name but it does make Triskaidekaphobia a note worthy entry
and a probable threat for Here Now And Why.
He finished sixth against Here Now And Why in the TurfTV Handicap on 26th October. The two are to share the racing track again today and both are up for their seasonal debuts. How will the positions change as opposed to the outcome of the previous
race will surface soon.
